In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Burbank Sunrise presented gift bags to counselors at the Family Service Agency of Burbank. Did you know that suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among individuals 10-34? There are 2.5 times as many suicides as homicides in the US. FSA provides mental health care, preventative programs, and social advocacy in Burbank. They provide counseling for our community’s youth, operate 2 student care centers, and a teen hotline. They also provide services for the homeless, our veterans, domestic violence victims, and services to young adults transitioning out of foster care. These gift “spa” bags were our small way of saying thank you to these front line workers.
